APPF24/RES/12

(Sponsored by Malaysia)

The 24th Annual Meeting of the Asia Pacific Parliamentary Forum;

Recalling the Resolution of the 23rd APPF Annual Meeting in Quito, Ecuador on Halal Industry as a source of economic growth;

Acknowledging the need to promote and facilitate the development of a proper Halal Ecosystem that consists of various infrastructure components such as dedicated industrial areas, testing laboratories, research institutes, knowledge reference Centre’s, policies, incentives, financing instruments, standards, certification systems and human capital development programs;

Highlighting the need for a proper ecosystem that would catalyse sustainable growth of the halal industry and provide significant impact to a country economically and socially;

Stressing the importance of developing an entity that would act as a focal point for a country in matters pertaining to the halal industry development, particularly in halal trade, investment, financing and research;
